GoldenEye for Wii but No TimeSplitters 4 at E3
The first day at E3 brought many announcements. One of those announcements was a GoldenEye remake, exclusively for the wii. It has 4 player split-screen with original characters and modes from the N64 game but will also include online multiplayer. The game will contain Daniel Craig and not Pierce Brosnan as bond and a new storyline, different from the original. It will be released this year, in November (apparently) and the graphics seem a little disappointing, even for the wii, but you can make your own mind up on that.
Do those health and armour bars may remind you of something?
David Doak and Steve Ellis formed Free Radical Design in 1999 and were joined by Graeme Norgate, Karl Hilton and Lee Ray. All of which worked previously at Rare, the company that made Goldeneye.
The TimeSplitters series can be considered to be GoldenEye’s legacy. The same enjoyment has carried through. The multiplayer brilliance and most obviously the HUD as examples.
If GoldenEye is considered to be one of the best games of all time and there is clearly market demand for such a game, what has happened to TimeSplitters 4?
